Notes is where you record your own thinking inside AI Ready: what a result means, what you agreed in a meeting, what to do next. It’s in the sidebar for everyone, whatever kind of organisation you’re in and whatever your role. The Notes page is titled Notes, “Your notes, and notes your team has shared.”

Writing a note

1

Select New note

New note sits at the top of the Notes page, and on the Notes panel of a client or a report.
2

Give it a title

The title field starts as Untitled. It’s part of the note, not a separate step.
3

Write

The body starts with Start writing your note…. It’s a full rich-text editor, see Formatting below.
4

It saves as you go

There’s no Save button. The indicator under the editor reads Saving… then Saved. If something goes wrong you’ll see Couldn’t save. Retrying on your next change.
The editor also shows Created [date] and Last edited [date], so you always know how current a note is.

Formatting

The editor works the way you’d expect: a toolbar across the top, and a small one that follows your selection. Everything standard is there, headings, bold, lists, checklists, tables, links, quotes, callouts, and colour.
The fastest way in is to type / anywhere in the body. That opens the insert menu without reaching for the toolbar, and it’s how most people end up working once they know it exists. To-do list is the one worth remembering: it turns a note into something you can actually work through.
Notes are rich text only. There’s no image, video, or file upload, and no @-mentions or comments. If you need to point at something, link to it.

Private or shared: which to pick

Every note has a Share with my team toggle. The default is private, and the honest rule is that most notes worth keeping should be shared. The test: if I left tomorrow, would someone need this? If yes, share it. A private note that mattered is a private note that gets lost. Sharing changes who can read, never who can write. Only you can ever edit or delete your own note, so sharing costs you nothing, a colleague opening it sees it read-only with no Edit or Delete. You can toggle it either way at any time. On the notes list, the Sharing column shows Private or Shared with team for your own notes, and Team for a colleague’s shared note. On a client or report panel the same states read Shared and Team.

Where should the note live?

This is the one choice you can’t undo, so it’s worth ten seconds. Ask what would I be looking at when I next need this? The rule of thumb: attach it if it would be useful to the next person who opens that record. A note about a report belongs on that report, where someone reading the report will find it, not in a general list they’d have to know to search. Use the attachment picker at the top of a new note, Attach to a client or report…. It lists what you can already reach, grouped into General, Clients, and Reports; if nothing matches your search you’ll see No matching client or report.
Choose the attachment before you save. It’s fixed once the note is created and the picker becomes read-only afterwards, so a note filed in the wrong place has to be rewritten somewhere else. When in doubt, attach it, a standalone note is the easiest one to lose.
The quickest way to attach one is from the thing itself: the Notes panel on a client page or a report page has its own New note, and a report’s section rail carries Add note. Both open a note already attached. An empty panel reads “No notes here yet. Add one to keep your thinking alongside this record.”

Finding a note

The Notes page lists every note you can read, yours and your team’s shared ones, with Title, Type, Attached to, Sharing, and Updated columns.
  • Search notes… filters by text.
  • The type filter (All types) narrows to Standalone, Client, or Report.
  • With no notes at all you’ll see “You don’t have any notes yet. Create your first note to get started.”; if a filter hides everything, “No notes match these filters.”
Notes are also indexed in Find, so ⌘K reaches a note by title from anywhere.

Editing and deleting

Open a note to read it, then Edit to change it. Delete asks first: the dialog is titled Delete note, “This note will be removed from your notes. This can’t be undone.” Confirming shows Note deleted.

Scores and reports

Reports you can attach a note to.
