# Help and support

> The help menu, the support conversation, feedback forms, and the build details a support thread needs.

**Help**, above your profile at the bottom of the sidebar, opens **Getting started**, the
**Documentation** site (in a new tab), **Contact support**, **Give feedback**, and **About
this build**. The same entries sit in your profile menu, and the **?** icon at the right of
the top bar opens the very same menu, so there is one help surface with several ways in.
**Contact support** opens a conversation with our team. There is no permanent chat button
sitting in the corner of the app: the chat window appears when you open it from the menu,
and from then on your messages and our replies stay in it whenever you come back. When a
reply is waiting, a red count appears on **Help** and on the **Contact support** row, and
the conversation opens by itself the first time you arrive with one unread. **Give
feedback** opens a short form for suggestions and impressions when a feedback survey is
running; it goes to the product team rather than starting a conversation.

**About this build** shows the details a support thread needs, with **Copy details** to put
them on your clipboard. Include them in a support request so our team can find your session
quickly; they describe your own session only and carry no access token.

You will also find a **Give feedback** button on individual features, at the **end** of
the thing it asks about: below an assessment, at the foot of a report, under the
findings on each card in [Research](/using/research), and on **Organisation → Plan &
Usage**. Those forms ask about that feature specifically, so tell us there what you would
change about what you just read; like the Help-menu entry, they collect through the
feedback survey while one is running. A feature with nothing in it yet has no button —
there is nothing to give feedback on — and otherwise you can use them as often as you
like.
